I tried using my computer today. It's kinda sorta working. And by kinda sorta I mean it took 20 minutes for me to get firefox on and it STILL LAGGED and gave me “This program is not responding.” (Firefox's sass with their turtle icon and “Firefox is slow to start up” message angered me even more.) And don't even get me started on Skype. I checked the Task Manager and everything seemed okay except for the CPU which was at 100% the entire time (explains the obnoxiously loud sounds it was making).
So yeah. I'm not on a computer right now and I'm using WiFi. The reason why I didn't sign is because whenever I sign in using the Nintendo consoles, it has the nasty habit of signing me out (sometimes without sending the messages I've typed out) so it's guestbook time for me.
I made this thread for all members that are having computer issues. So if and when I get mine fixed, please feel free to use it.

I heard Firefox is crap. Maybe try a different browser. My computer made sounds like that before it died. It made that loud noise and then a few days later I couldn't turn it on at all and had to buy a whole new laptop and get all my data back. Maybe you need a new computer?

Firefox tends to work with me the best compared to other browsers. Plus I tried using Chrome and it was having trouble loading today too.
As for getting a new computer, I'm rather worried (and upset) if it has to come to that. This computer is only a year old.

..what do you have for anti virus? My computer was doing the same thing. I found out I had not one, but NINE bugs in it. Eek. Malwarebytes kicks butt, just saying. No matter what you currently have, scan the crap out of it. Then, if you don't have malwarebytes, do your best to obtain it.

Firefox is actually the best browser for me as well, so I would not recommend using a diff one since I think our computers are similar in what browsers they like and don't like. But I'm guessing skype totally died the day we were trying to talk, which is why you went off. D; I'm sorry to hear it's still giving you trouble..I guess maybe you should have taken it in back when you had that gut feeling something was wrong after all. I'm sorry that your computer is giving you so much trouble. DX
I'm with becky in suggesting a lot of scans- you should also do scans in safe mode WITHOUT networking when your computer is not connected to the internet, to see if you can find anything. I've had issues like this in the past that turned out to be malware and such, so it certainly won't hurt to check that out. And yes, MALWAREBYTES TRY IIIT. Also the trojan remover if you have the free trial of that. If not, I can try to look it up and link it to you here so you can read the link on your game system and write it down. If scanning doesn't work, you def have to take it in- I'd take it in and try to have it fixed before you even think about buying a new one.

I've got good news and I've got bad news.
The good news is last night (or rather this morning) I followed your advice and did some full scans on safe mode with no networking. When it came to the spyware scans I found and got rid about 14 spyware. When I did the full scans for viruses I found absolutly nothing.
The bad news is despite all that the computer is still lagging and giving trouble with Skype and other things.
This must mean one of two things. Either I have a virus that has managed to hide itself or this has nothing to do with malware and is a hardware problem. Based on how my computer has been acting, I'm taking a safe guess that it's the latter. Though you can never be too sure with these things so regardless of what it is, I plan on not using the computer too often until I take it to a professional sometime this month.

Sorry for the issues. In my case it was a hardware problem but I wonder if updating your software might help. I noticed Skype can be slow if you have it set as "Sign me in when Skype starts" Make it so you need to log in manually and it might go faster.

I'll update this thread here, since MJ and I have talked on skype when we've both been able. She's bringing her computer in soon to get fixed, so hopefully her computer woes will be a thing of the past shortly.

Thank you for saying that. I was just about to make a thread about it. So yes. Since this is my only computer, I might not be able to talk here or on other places for a while. But hopefully after all that's said and done, all my computer problems will be behind me. So either later on today or tomorrow, I'm sending it in to be fixed.

Shauni. Remember on Skype a while back how I was sick but got better? Yeah. It didn't last too long; it crept up on me again. Sore throat, coughing, and a runny nose. I think it could be the flu since I have a fever and felt nausated earlier (thankfully I did not throw up). To make things worse, my period came which left me feeling more sluggish than beforehand. Whatever it is my dad and I are going to get our flu shots once we feel better.
That being said, I was in bed all day yesterday and today.
If you or Mandy stumble upon this, I want you to know that I have the Pokemon I want to trade with you guys and I want you to copy and paste this on SC if you get the chance.
Bret's Pokemon: -Goliath, a male Timid Noibat (Since Kalos didn't have a Gargolye Pokemon, I decided to name one of your Pokemon after one.) -A male Careful Trevenant -A male Naive Hydregion named Fairy Food (I'm going to rename him after Ghetsis or N so you don't have to worry about that.) -Chance the female Lax Seviper
Shauni's Pokemon: -Kane the male Timid Noibat -Cereb the male Modest Houndour -Cugine the male Modest Murkrow -Eddie the male Docile Mighyena -A female Haunter (we can trade back and forth for a Gengar for PokeDex purposes.)
Mandy's Pokemon: -Luna the female Timid Noibat -A female Hasty Trapinch -A female Naughty Bagon (tell me what you want me to nickname her) -A female Adamant Mawile (yet again tell me what to nickname her) -Europe the Rash Staravia
All of the Pokemon I'm giving you have Pokerus and many of them have held items so once you get them, keep the items as a gift.
Some of them are also EV trained. All of the Noibat are, the Houndour, the Murkrow, and the Bagon are completly EV trained. Since the Trapinch was Hasty, I didn't know if you wanted to run a physical, special, or mixed set with her so she's only half EV trained; Mandy you can choose to EV train either or both her attack stats since her Speed EVs are at 252 now.
Also Mandy the Mawile I'm giving you, while it isn't EV trained, has near perfect IVs. Before you try to reject my offer and tell me to keep the Mawile, I have her mother and her IVs are just as good as her daughter's (X and Y made IV breeding easier).
The Pokemon I'm looking for in return are mostly Y exclusives since I own X. Other Pokemon I would like to have is perhaps either of the Kalos Dinosaurs (I will trade them back to you once I breed them).
Also Bret, do you have Shauna's Fennekin by any chance? I need a stud for breeding and the gift Pokemon Shauna gives out are really good.

Aww MJ! That's so sweet! I think I'll give Mana a female timid Noivern named Luna now in honor of all this ='D
Hrm, how about for that Mawile you name it Moneta (like Tara's) I'd love to have a Moneta after the last one died and disappeared. Also Totally got you a plague doctor spritzee female for breeding purposes. I also have Little foot (whatever that ones name is.) You are so sweet MJ thank you so much! Hope you feel better soon!!!

You're welcome Mandy. Thank you for the Yveltal. Do you want anything in return for it?
Also Pokemon things aside, I've got good news and bad news. The good news is my computer is no longer lagging online, using videos, and games and the like since it's now fixed. Shauni's guess was right. They found a whopping 32 viruses on this thing. They didn't even have to factory reset the computer or anything (if they did, they were nice enough to put all the files back where they belong). I also got a new external hard drive. The cord for it is rather short so I'm still going to use my old one for now until I can get a longer cord for this one.
The bad news is Skype is still lagging. I opened up Skype 10 minutes ago and it's STILL not loading. So yeah despite the virus removal and the tuneup, Skype is still persisting to be a pain in the ass. Everything else is working great at the moment except for Skype.

Maybe update your Skype or contact the people in charge of Skype about a way to fix it? external hard drives are a life saver. I got a toshiba drive and it has a decent size cord.
