Well everyone, I just thought I would post this up to discuss some of the continuity issues which “Lilo & Stitch 2” contains.
While the movie itself is great, there are certain points where it doesn`t fully reflect the continuity of “Stitch! The Movie” and the rest of the series, which is most notable in the layout of Lilo and Stitch`s bedroom. In “Stitch! The movie”, the TV series and “Leroy and Stitch” they have two separate beds in their bedroom and an alien elevator to take them in and out of the bedroom, while in “Lilo & Stitch 2” they have a bunk bed in their bedroom and a traditional staircase leading in and out of the bedroom.
I have been trying to think of ideas to resolve these issues. To solve the issue of Lilo and Stitch`s bedroom I believe originally they did have a bunk bed in their bedroom, but was removed when they decided they wanted separate beds for themselves. Did any of you notice that in the TV series Jumba and Pleakley had a bunk bed in their bedroom? That could be the bunk bed that was originally in Lilo and Stitch`s bedroom, it might have been moved to Jumba and Pleakley`s room when Lilo and Stitch got their separate beds. Also perhaps originally the staircase is what lead into Lilo`s bedroom until she decided she was tired of having to climb up the stairs all the time, so she asked Jumba to make her an alien advanced elevator to carry her up to her room.
Also when discussing this with ChrisDilke he believed the staircase might have also been removed for safety reasons, for example perhaps Lilo or Stitch had an accident by falling down the stairs by either stumbling or one of the steps breaking. So therefore the stairs might have been seen as a hazard and replaced with the elevator for their safety. (This is quite possible, seeing in “Lilo & Stitch 2” how Lilo and Stitch where fighting to get down the stairs first).
Hopefully that might solve the issue of the bedroom, if anyone ells has any other thoughts or ideas about this then feel free to post them up.
