Aloha everyone,
Hope everyone has been doing well and participating in the SLS Weekend Bashes. We have one more in September and then I'll be getting the Oct.-Dec. dates up next.
Anyways, as you know, and I've alluded to in previous posts, Lilo & Stitch has a big anniversary coming up next year in June 2012. And have been thinking as you may have, what would be a fun way to celebrate? Interestingly at that same time, so does Kim Possible. I recently discovered a KP Fan Convention that was being put together. We will be promoting that event. But I thought how cool would it be to have a Lilo & Stitch convention?! Now we are small fan base, with a limited budget. A big convention is probably not going to happen. But a smaller SLS sponsored Lilo & Stitch event is a possibility. Well I have several ideas running through my head. I will be putting these ideas down on our site and as a Facebook event page shortly. But whether any of these ideas become reality, will largely depend on two things. 1) Input from anyone around or close to the Chicagoland area that would willing to help plan and partially sponsor an event. And 2) Feedback from our ohana here and elsewhere that would seriously consider attending an event in the Chicagoland area in June 2012. Why Chicago? Well I'm from Chicago. I run the group/site. And tired of everything good being in Cali lol. So I'm showing the midwest some love. So if you believe either of these pertain to you, contact me privately through contact@saveliloandstitch.org, or the contact form. Hey, this could be huge. But I work full time, have a family to feed... lol so I need ideas, help and donations to put something memorable together. Even if you can't make it to Chicago, but could help plan or donate, let me know. Any assistance is appreciated.
So stay tuned to the site, Facebook and Twitter in the coming months. Have a lot of e-mails to write and calls to make to see if any of my ideas would even be possible. But watch for the updates as this hopefully comes together.
Feel like planning an event in your part of the world? Let us know too! We will be happy to help and promote your event as much as possible.
Mahalo!
